Pune: A food delivery agent, Marfat Ali (27), died after a car driver suddenly opened the vehicle’s door, causing Ali’s motorcycle to crash into it at around 3pm on July 17 in Hadapsar. Hadapsar police registered a case on Wednesday.Police said, “Ali was heading towards Hadapsar Gadital from DP Road to deliver a food parcel. A car was travelling ahead of his motorcycle and came to a halt. The driver, a Hadapsar resident, allegedly opened the car door without checking the rear-view mirror or taking due care, following which Ali crashed into the door. He fell onto the road and sustained serious head injuries. Rushed to a nearby private hospital, he was declared dead.”Last week, a Camp resident had similarly died in an accident on Booty Street. Cantonment police had booked a woman car driver for causing death by negligence.
