Mohali MLA to support 3 NEET qualifiers

Mohali: Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh has announced financial support for three economically disadvantaged students who qualified the NEET examination this year, committing to cover part of their medical education expenses.According to teacher Manjit Singh, all three students studied in meritorious schools and secured admissions to medical colleges.Mehakdeep Singh, a resident of Alamwala village in Sri Muktsar Sahib, has secured admission to Gian Sagar Medical College. The total cost of his medical education, including hostel expenses, is estimated at around Rs 32 lakh. After accounting for a scholarship and education loan, Kulwant Singh will contribute the remaining Rs 13.5 lakh.Aman Singh of Malout, who has secured admission to Faridkot Medical College, will receive assistance of around Rs 14 lakh towards his educational expenses.Similarly, Sumandeep Kaur of Hauz Gandhar village in Fazilka will receive support for hostel expenses amounting to around Rs 3 lakh.Kulwant Singh said financial constraints should not prevent deserving students from pursuing higher education.“These youth are the future of Punjab. It is the collective responsibility of society to promote and support the talent of hardworking children. No deserving student should be deprived of higher education because of financial difficulties,” he said.
