Gorakhpur: In a significant boost to its research and innovation profile, Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT), Gorakhpur, received patent for green technology aimed at treating industrial wastewater and promoting sustainable chemical processes, the university informed.The patent was awarded to MMUT for invention titled ‘Chitosan–ZSM-5 Biocomposite Photocatalyst’, under the guidance of Prof Rajesh Kumar Yadav of the department of chemistry and environmental science. The innovation was created by PhD scholar Geeta Srivastava along with co-inventors Rehana Shaheen, Kanchan Sharma and Shaifali Mishra.Vice-Chancellor Prof Anupama Kaushik Sharma congratulated the research team, saying the patent reflects MMMUT’s commitment to innovation and impactful research. She said the technology could open avenues for collaborations in environmental protection, wastewater management and green technology commercialisation.
