Mumbai: A bird park is set to come up in Bhandup 4km from BMC’s Mulund aviary. Mulund MLA Mihir Kotecha said the Mulund aviary will comprise enclosures with 22 different species of birds, while the Bhandup bird park, which will be built on 20.1 hectares in the Thane creek flamingo sanctuary, will provide an opportunity to see 250 species of migratory birds in their natural habitat.Mumbai suburbs guardian minister Ashish Shelar has sanctioned Rs 45 crore for the Bhandup nature park. Kotecha said the project involves constructing eco-friendly tourism infrastructure, including a viewing deck and an interpretation centre made from wood and bamboo. The project has obtained coastal regulation zone clearance, he said.
