Mizoram govt official leads verification at Parva to resolve boundary row between Lai & Chakma dist councils

Aizawl: Mizoram’s district council and minority affairs secretary Lalhmunsanga Hnamte led a spot verification to address boundary issues between the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) and the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC).The verification was carried out on Friday in the Parva-1 area near Tuichawng, where issues concerning the boundary pillars erected by Central Young Lai Association (CYLA) leaders were examined. The team met with representatives from Parva-I village council and Young Chakma Association, Parva-2 village council and Young Lai Association, and Parva-3 Young Mizo Association and held discussions regarding the status of the boundary and related matters.The recent installation of boundary pillars by CYLA leaders in Parva-1 village, claiming as the boundary between LADC and CADC, had been strongly opposed by CADC authorities as well as civil societies of the council, causing tension in the area.Lawngtlai district deputy commissioner Donny Lalruatsanga attended the boundary inspection and interacted with the representatives of the three Parva village councils and local voluntary organisations. He listened to grievances and community needs, assuring proper investigation and resolution.
