Aizawl: The Mizoram BJP on Monday criticised CM Lalduhoma’s remarks on alleged financial “mismanagement” in the state’s three Autonomous District Councils (ADCs), blaming the Zoram People’s Movement-led govt for for the fiscal crunch being faced by the councils.Speaking at a a political session in Aizawl, BJP MLA K Hrahmo said the chief minister’s remarks during the inauguration of the Siaha deputy commissioner’s office did not reflect the actual financial condition of the councils.“I want the people of Mizoram to know that what the Chief Minister said during the inauguration of the Siaha DC office was largely incorrect. Who is providing the Chief Minister with inaccurate figures and making him speak on the basis of factually incorrect information?” Hrahmo asked.He alleged that the govt had failed to fulfil its commitments to the ADCs and lacked concern for their functioning.According to Hrahmo, around 17 per cent of Mizoram’s population resides in the areas covered by the three ADCs. However, he claimed, the share allocated to the ADCs from the state’s budget has been reduced to only about four per cent, unlike during previous governments.
