Silchar: A three-and-a-half-year-old boy missing since Monday was found dead in the Rukni river on Tuesday.Fuzayel Ahmed, the only son of Khaspur resident Shamsuddin, was found floating near Islamabad around 8 am, about 1.5 km from his home, police said.Dholai police recovered the body and sent it to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for an autopsy.The family said Fuzayel disappeared around 4.30 pm on Monday while other family members were busy. CCTV footage from the house showed him walking towards the river.Fearing he had fallen into the water, his family and neighbours began searching for him. Police later reached the area, but poor visibility hampered the operation after nightfall.The search resumed on Tuesday morning, shortly before residents spotted the body downstream. Police suspect the child drowned, but the cause of death is yet to be confirmed.
