Lucknow: A 14-year-old girl was allegedly taken on the pretext of attending a birthday party and gang-raped in the Indiranagar area. Ghazipur police said they have arrested two men in connection with the case and sent them to jail.Ghazipur (Indiranagar) SHO Rajesh Kumar Maurya identified the arrested accused as Guddu Kevat, a resident of Lohangpur in Sidhauli, Sitapur, and Amit, a resident of Newada Barua in Khairabad. Police said both work for a private company in Gomtinagar.According to the police complaint, the incident occurred on Aug 12 when Amit allegedly lured the minor by promising to take her to his birthday party. Police said he took her along and contacted his associate Guddu during the journey.Investigators said the two took the girl to an office where they allegedly sexually assaulted her. Police added that when she resisted, the men allegedly threatened her with consequences.After the alleged assault, the accused left the girl and fled, police said. The girl later reached home and informed her family about what had happened.On the following day, she went with her family to Ghazipur police station and filed a complaint. Based on the complaint, police registered an FIR under relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and sections related to gang rape.Police said both accused were arrested near Sector 25 on Monday, produced before a court, and remanded to judicial custody. Further investigation is underway.
