Meeting in Mohali sets stage for Rail Roko, global outreach

Times News NetworkMohali: During a meeting of panthic and farmer organisations convened on Monday at the call of Quami Insaf Morcha, participants deliberated upon political, social and religious issues concerning Punjab. The gathering concluded with a unanimous resolution to launch a large-scale public movement to address what leaders described as pressing concerns facing the state.Announcing the next phase of mobilisation, leaders declared that a state-level mass movement would be rolled out in the coming months. As part of the programme, a “Rail Roko“ agitation has been scheduled in Sirhind on July 4. Preparations were also reviewed for the proposed “Aar-Paar Di Batal“ programme on Aug 15, with discussions held on the future course of the campaign.A key focus of the meeting was the issue of imprisoned Sikhs who, according to organisers, have completed their sentences but remain behind bars. Leaders said the matter would now be taken up internationally, with plans to send representations to embassies, parliamentarians in different countries and the United Nations to draw global attention.The meeting was attended by several Panthic and farmer leaders, including Bhai Jasvir Singh Rode, Bhai Mohkam Singh, Bhai Satnam Singh Manawan, Bhai Jaskaran Singh Kahan Singh Wala, Jathedar Gurdeep Singh Bathinda, Gurcharan Singh Hawara, Gurjant Singh, Bharpur Singh, Bhupinder Singh, Kuldeep Singh Dalla, Sant Charanjit Singh Jasowal, Sardul Singh, Pal Singh, Balwinder Singh, Gurinder Singh Bhangu, Dr Darshan Pal, Sukh Gill Moga, Jeet Aulakh, Indervir Singh Patiala, Bhai Pal Singh France and Resham Singh Kharar.Representatives of Akali Dal Waris Punjab, Akali Dal Amritsar, United Akali Dal, Sher-e-Punjab Kisan Union, Krantikari Kisan Union, Bhartiya Kisan Union Totewal and Kisan Union Amritsar also participated in the deliberations.
