Maruti Suzuki is working on a mid-cycle update of its popular premium hatchback, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno. The facelifted model has been spotted testing on Indian roads. Here’s what to expect from the updated model which is likely to debut in the latter half of 2026.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift : What to expect
As seen in the video, most of the visual updates will be focused on the front end. The test mule, seen with heavy camouflage, appears to be boasting a sharper and more aggressive design. The updated model is expected to feature a redesigned grille, a revised front bumper, and new LED headlamps. There could also be updated DRLs and refreshed LED tail lamps. A new set of alloy wheels is also expected to be part of the package.
Inside, details remain limited due to the camouflaged test vehicle. However, the overall dashboard layout is expected to remain familiar. Maruti could introduce updated upholstery, new trims, and additional features. Under the hood, the facelifted Baleno is expected to retain the existing 1.2-litre petrol engine along with a CNG option. This motor currently produces around 89 hp and 113 Nm of torque. Maruti may also consider introducing the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine from the Maruti Suzuki Fronx to broaden the lineup, although its introduction remains uncertain. The Baleno has been one of the best-selling cars in its segment since the current generation arrived in 2022, making this update significant for Maruti Suzuki. More details are expected to emerge closer to its official unveiling.
