Rajkot: A man allegedly raped a married woman after threatening her during a dispute over a loan in the Vinchhiya police station area of Rajkot district.Police identified the accused as Ramesh Panchala, who was arrested after the woman’s husband filed a complaint.According to the complaint, the victim’s husband had approached Panchala a few years ago seeking money for his son’s wedding. Panchala allegedly lent him Rs 1.5 lakh at an interest rate of 20% per month. The complainant said he paid Rs 2 lakh in instalments towards the loan and interest, but Panchala continued to demand additional money.The complainant told police that a few days ago he found Panchala at his house with his wife but fled after seeing him. The woman later told her husband that Panchala had come to their house when she was alone, threatened her and raped her.Vinchhiya police station inspector A C Damor said Panchala had been arrested and that investigators were collecting evidence related to the financial transactions, interest payments and the rape allegation.The complainant also alleged that Panchala had previously forcibly taken away his son’s motorcycle over the loan dispute.
