Man’s throat slit by partner, son in Jeedimetla

Hyderabad: A 40-year-old man was killed by his paramour and her son in Jeedimetla. The man was allegedly harassing the accused.The incident occurred on Sunday night and the two accused, G Aruna, 42, and G Sai Ratnam, 19, were arrested. The victim, Shiva Reddy, a native of Kadapa district, Andhra Pradesh, was in a live-in relationship with the woman for the past decade. Their teenage son also lived with them.Police said the victim was reportedly troubling the mother and her son by coming home drunk. Frustrated, the accused decided to kill the victim.On Sunday night, using a machete, the accused slit the victim’s throat. “When the murder took place, the victim was in drunken condition and he was sleeping,” Jeedimetla SI Prem Sagar said.The accused planned to dispose of the body by wrapping it in a cloth and throwing it into a nearby nala. However, they could not carry out the plan and the police arrived at the scene. The accused were arrested and sent to judicial remand on the charge of murder.Subsequently, in their attempt to dispose of the body, the accused wrapped it in a cloth and kept it inside their house. The victim’s clothes were removed and thrown into a nearby nala. “The accused intended to pack the body and dump it in the nala but could not do so. Meanwhile, police, upon receiving information, reached the spot,” police said. The accused were arrested and sent to judicial remand on charges of murder. Police said both the accused and the victim were daily wage labourers.
