Rohtak: The family members of Manisha, a teacher at a play school whose body was found two days after her disappearance in August last year, met the superintendent of police, Bhiwani, on Monday and pressed for a meeting with the Central Bureau of Investigation, which is investigating the case.Manisha was a resident of Dhani Laxman village in Bhiwani district.Accompanied by the villagers, Manisha’s father, Sanjay, urged the SP to fulfil the earlier assurance of arranging a meeting with the CBI officials. They said the promised time frame had already expired and demanded that the meeting be arranged at the earliest.The family warned that if the meeting does not take place in time and there is no progress or disclosure in the investigation, they will be compelled to launch a protest.Sanjay said that on June 29, police stopped him en route as he was going to begin a hunger strike. He alleged heavy deployment of police personnel, “as though we were terrorists”. After I was stopped, I began the hunger strike at Kudal Bas village, he added.According to Sanjay, SP Sumit Kumar later visited the site of the hunger strike and assured the family that they would be able to meet CBI officials within a week. However, even after a fortnight, the family was not able to meet the investigating agency.He said the assurance was not fulfilled, forcing them to approach the SP again. Sanjay, however, said that Sumit Kumar had now assured them of a meeting with the CBI officials on Tuesday.He revealed that the police would send a vehicle to pick up the family, and five of the family members would travel to Delhi, where they would meet CBI officials.Sanjay expressed hope that the meeting would occur as scheduled and that the CBI would inform the family about the investigation’s progress and current status. He added that the family was seeking justice for Manisha and warned that if the meeting with the CBI did not take place, they would launch an agitation.This is a fight for justice, and we will continue the struggle without backing down, he said. While the SP has scheduled the meeting with the CBI for Tuesday, the family has demanded that the reports already received be made public and that the remaining reports be completed within a fixed timeline.Sanjay recalled that his daughter went to work at a play school on Aug 11, 2025. She later told the family she was going to a nursing college regarding her admission, after which she left home and never returned.
