MUMBAI: A 49-year-old man, who was wanted in a case of trafficking for the past 22 years, was arrested by the Oshiwara Police recently.Rajendra Shinde was produced before a magistrate court at Mazgaon on June 3.The trafficking case against Shinde dates back to 2004. When he stopped appearing for hearings, the Sewri sessions court had issued a non-bailable warrant against him and asked the police to look for him.Police teams checked at his residential address which was in a slum colony. But the slum was demolished as part of a redevelopment project in 2012-13. Through their network of informants, police learnt that Shinde had sold off his house in 2005 and moved to his hometown.But, after following leads and search operation, it was learnt that he wasn’t in is hometown either.Further inquiries revealed he had moved into a new place at Vile Parle. The police kept a watch on him and were table to take him into custody on June 3.The arrested was made by a team under the supervision of senior inspector Sanjay Chavan and DCP Mohit Garg.
