Bhilwara: Additional District and Sessions Court (Mahila Utpidan) in Bhilwara Friday sentenced a man to life imprisonment and fined Rs 35,000 for murdering a woman and injuring her granddaughter five years ago.The convict has been identified as Abid Hussain alias Ballu, a resident of Pratapnagar in Chittorgarh.According to a case filed by one Narendra, a resident of Ghati ke Balaji Road in Banera of Bhilwara, on July 15, 2021, Gurgul and her nine-year-old granddaughter Tanisha were sleeping in their house.Hussain entered the house and attacked both with a sharp-edged weapon. They were first taken to the Community Health Centre Banera and then referred from there to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, Bhilwara, where Gurgul died during treatment.Special public prosecutor Aditi Sethia presented arguments on behalf of the state govt. The prosecution presented 27 witnesses and 102 documents before the court.The court in its order said that if the convict does not deposit the fine amount, he will have to undergo additional imprisonment.
