Man from Maharashtra stabs 3 of family in row over watching TV, booked

Thane: A 64-year-old Rabodi resident allegedly attacked and stabbed his wife, daughter and granddaughter in a fit of rage following a dispute over watching television, minutes after his granddaughter’s birthday celebration in their home early Saturday.According to a complaint filed by his 39-year-old married daughter, the incident occurred around 12.30 am on April 25 at her parents’ residence in the Kranti Nagar area, stated senior inspector Hemant Patil. Shortly after midnight, the victims decided to switch on the television, which allegedly angered the accused, who wanted to sleep. The accused allegedly got into an argument with his wife and started abusing her and, in a fit of rage, picked up a kitchen knife and attacked her. The complainant tried to intervene and sustained injuries to her hand, while her daughter also suffered injuries during the scuffle. The family raised an alarm, following which the man was overpowered and handed over to the police. A complaint has been lodged against the accused, and the police are investigating further.Meanwhile, the trio are recuperating from the knife wounds.
