Gurgaon: A 22-year-old man died after a tree fell on his moving bike near Satya The Hive Mall in Sector 102 on Saturday morning.An officer from Dhankot police post said it is not clear why the tree was uprooted and investigators are looking into the circumstances which caused it to fall.Police said the deceased, Vinay, was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Despite that, he suffered injuries to his face and head when the tree fell on his bike.Passersby gathered in the area after the accident and tried to revive Vinay, who had become unconscious. They then informed police. Vinay was taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.His body was kept at SGT mortuary for autopsy and was handed over to his family after the post-mortem examination.He was pursuing distance correspondence studies from a local institute.Traffic in the area was also disrupted for a short period because of the fallen tree. Movement of vehicles was restored soon after it was removed by the authorities concerned.An officer familiar with the case said inquest proceedings had been initiated under Section 194 of BNSS.
