Man bludgeoned to death over suspected affair near Bhiloda

Palanpur: A suspected romantic relationship triggered a fatal attack in Aravalli district on Tuesday, when a 42-year-old labourer was allegedly beaten to death with a stone in broad daylight near a village school. Police have booked the accused for murder and launched a detailed investigation.Ashok Balu Tarar (Thakor), 42, a resident of Budheli village who worked as a painter and daily-wage labourer, was allegedly murdered in Maheru village of Bhiloda taluka on Tuesday afternoon.According to police, Ashok had gone to Maheru for work. Between 1pm and 2pm, near Maheru Primary School, he was allegedly intercepted by Nalin alias Neelam Chunilal Bhagora, a resident of the village.Investigators said Bhagora suspected that Ashok was in a romantic relationship with his sister. The suspicion allegedly led to an argument that escalated into violence.Police said Bhagora attacked Ashok with a large stone, repeatedly striking him on the left eye, forehead and other parts of the body. Ashok sustained severe injuries and died at the scene.The victim’s younger brother, Nilesh Balu Tarar, lodged a complaint with Bhiloda police against Bhagora for murder.Bhiloda Inspector M R Sangada said the investigation is underway. The public killing near a school shocked residents of Maheru and the surrounding areas.
