Lucknow: A 52-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his wife and two sons after a dispute over the sale of a house in Kanhamau village under Kheeron police station area of Rae Bareli district on Wednesday morning, police said.The deceased was identified as Asharam Pal, who lived in a house located in an orchard on the outskirts of the village. He also owned another house in the village that he had recently sold to a local, Bachcha Gupta. Police said the sale triggered tensions within the family.According to investigators, an argument broke out between Asharam and his sons over the property transaction. The sons allegedly questioned him about where the family would live after the house had been sold. The quarrel intensified after Asharam reportedly said he would also sell his agricultural land.Police said Asharam’s sons, identified as Gaurav and Rohit, and their mother, Shashi Devi, allegedly assaulted him with sticks and batons. He sustained serious injuries in the attack.After receiving information, police reached the location and took Asharam to Community Health Centre in Kheeron, where doctors declared him dead, officials said. The accused later fled from the spot.Additional superintendent of police Alok Singh said a murder case has been registered on the basis of a complaint filed by the village chowkidar. Police teams have been formed to trace and arrest the accused. Kheeron station house officer Santosh Kumar Singh said Asharam was addicted to alcohol and had been selling property, and the dispute centred on those decisions. The body was sent for postmortem.
