Chennai: A 65-year-old man was stabbed to death by his friend following an argument while the two were under the influence of alcohol in Virugambakkam on Sunday night. Police have arrested the suspect.Police said the deceased, Karunakaran, 65, of Virugambakkam, was a construction worker, and, Rajendran, 65, also of Virugambakkam, operated a pushcart tiffin stall. On Sunday, the two were drinking when an argument broke out, during which Karunakaran slapped Rajendran. Enraged, Rajendran brought a vegetable-cutting knife and stabbed Karunakaran in his chest. When he was rushed to a hospital in Vadapalani, doctors declared him dead on arrival. His body was later shifted to a govt hospital mortuary for postmortem.Virugambakkam police registered a case and arrested Rajendran. He was sent to Puzhal prison.
