Major cop reshuffle: 16 DSPs, 108 ICs transferred

Kolkata: In a major police reshuffle across the state, 16 deputy superintendents of police (DSPs) and sub-divisional police officers (SDPOs), along with 108 inspectors-in charge (ICs), were transferred within the West Bengal Police. The ICs of Baruipur, Sonarpur, Narendrapur, Canning, Diamond Harbour, Falta, Budge Budge and Nodakhali were reassigned. The ICs of Digha, Contai and Tamluk police stations were also transferred.Within the Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate, the IC of Electronic Complex police station was transferred and posted as the new IC of Nayagram police station in Jhargram. In turn, the current IC of Nayagram will take charge at Electronic Complex police station.In addition, officers heading the District Intelligence Bureau (DIB), District Enforcement Branch (DEB) and the state traffic headquarters were shifted. The ICs of the DIB in Basirhat police district and Hooghly Rural were also transferred. The circle inspector of Basirhat police district was reassigned as well. The IC of Sealdah Govt Railway Police (GRP) was also changed.The official notice indicates that transfers were made from the reserved and armed branches too.
