Lucknow: The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has approved road and drainage projects in 10 municipal wards under the Regional Infrastructure Fund for 2026-27, stepping in to execute works that the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) could not take up due to fund constraints.The proposals, submitted by the civic body, were cleared at a fund committee meeting chaired by LDA vice-chairperson Prathamesh Kumar.The approved works include construction of roads, RCC drains, roadside drains, road restoration and footpath improvement in Chinhat, Sarojini Nagar, Jankipuram, Shankarpurwa, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Raja Bazar, Chowk Kaliji and other wards.Among the major projects, Chinhat will get an RCC drain from Vijayant Khand to Chandan Hospital at a cost of Rs 1.1 crore and road restoration work near Chandan Hospital for Rs 1.45 crore.A drain with a slab cover from Brahmakumari Ashram to Ramnagar Marg has also been sanctioned at a cost of Rs 48 lakh.In Sarojini Nagar, road and drain work in the Behta area worth Rs 85.9 lakh has been approved, while Jankipuram will get roads, drains and link lanes from Sahara Estate Gate No. 1 to Pandeypur Chauraha at a cost of Rs 1.86 crore.
