Noida: Gautam Budh Nagar district is set to get its first Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) that will provide education up to Class 12, the basic education department has announced.A proposal for a Rs 10-crore residential campus at Makoda village of Bisrakh block has been sent. The school is likely to accommodate 200 girls. Officials said the proposal was sent after the issue of identifying land for the project was resolved. The school is expected to improve access to secondary and senior secondary education for students from economically weaker families in the district.At present, Gautam Budh Nagar district has three KGBVs in Dadri, Dankaur and Jewar, which cater to students from Classes 6 to 8. While hostels are being expanded at these schools to support higher classes, basic education officer Rahul Panwar said the new campus would be the district’s first KGBV to offer integrated education from Classes 6 to 12. “A residential school for 200 girls has been proposed in Bisrakh block,” he said.Officials said the residential school will have hostels, smart classrooms, a library, science and computer laboratories, a skill lab, a playground and other facilities in line with the National Education Policy. CCTV cameras will be installed across the campus and security personnel will be deployed to ensure the safety of students.The proposed school is expected to benefit girls from Bisrakh block and nearby villages, including Palla, Bodaki, Datawali, Tilpata, Jaitpur, Ghodi Bacheda, Sakipur, Thapkheda and Dadha, as well as adjoining urban sectors. Currently, many girls from these areas have to seek admission in residential schools located in Dadri, Dankaur and Jewar.
