Dibrugarh: The Lakhimpur district administration has planned a series of eviction drives at five locations across the district between Nov 4 and 14 as part of its ongoing efforts to clear encroachments from govt land.According to an official communication issued by the revenue branch of the district commissioner’s office on Oct 30, the drives will be conducted in Bihpuria, North Lakhimpur and Kadam revenue circles.The first drive is scheduled for Nov 4 at No. 1 Dharampur under Bihpuria Revenue Circle, followed by an operation at Balijan under North Lakhimpur Revenue Circle on Nov 6.On Nov 12, the administration will conduct the third eviction drive at Boginadi PGR (Professional Grazing Reserve) under Kadam Revenue Circle. Two more drives are scheduled for Nov 14 at 9/6 Koilamari and Borbil, both under North Lakhimpur Revenue Circle.In a letter addressed to senior superintendent of police Gunendra Deka, the additional deputy commissioner of Lakhimpur has requested deployment of adequate police personnel at the sites to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incident.Circle officers have been asked to make the required arrangements and coordinate with the police and other officials to facilitate the eviction exercises.
