New Delhi: A labourer died, and another was grievously injured after they fell from a height while carrying out whitewashing work in west Delhi’s Fateh Nagar Friday. .The deceased, Munna Shah, was a 44-year-old resident of Govindpuri, while the injured, Rajesh, was a resident of Sangam Vihar.According to police, a PCR call was received at Hari Nagar police station about two labourers falling from a height in the D block. As cops reached the spot, both injured people had already been shifted to hospitals.Shah was declared brought dead on arrival at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital. Rajesh was admitted to Dashmesh Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. Police said he was unable to give a statement due to pain.“Based on scene inspection, medical evidence and surrounding circumstances, it appeared that both labourers had fallen due to a lack of adequate safety measures,” said a senior police officer.Police registered a case under sections 290 (negligent conduct during the construction, repair, or demolition of buildings), 125 (act endangering life or personal safety of others), and 106 (causing death by negligence) of BNS.
