Rajkot: A 35-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her husband for refusing to cook rotlas at Mota Dhavda village in Nakhatrana taluka of Kutch district late on Tuesday night.The victim, Nabu, was living with her husband, Jenti Koli, on a farm on the outskirts of the village. Both worked as labourers.According to the FIR lodged by the victim’s younger brother, Devji Koli, at Nakhatrana police station, around 10pm on Tuesday Jenti told Nabu to make rotlas for dinner. She refused and an argument broke out.Police said Jenti attacked Nabu with a stick and a knife in a fit of rage, inflicting fatal injuries on her head, neck and body.The crime came to light the next morning when Devji, who works at a farm nearby, received a call telling him about a fight at his sister’s house. On getting there around 10am, he found villagers and police gathered there and his sister lying dead with severe injuries.Jenti, who was at the scene, allegedly confessed to his brother-in-law that he had killed Nabu after the argument.Police shifted the body to a govt hospital for a postmortem. A case was registered against Jenti under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for murder and Section 135 of the Gujarat Police Act.
