Kotputli-Behror anti-mining protesters allege being fired upon, cops not sure | Jaipur News



Jaipur: Tension prevailed in Ajeetpura village of Kotputli-Behror district after a violent clash erupted at a protest site where local villagers were agitating against alleged illegal mining activities Monday. Ten people were injured in the incident, with villagers claiming that armed assailants had opened fire on protesters.Three of the injured were later shifted to Jaipur due to the severity of their injuries.Police said allegations of shots being fired during the incident could not be immediately confirmed, as medical reports of the injured are still awaited.A heavy police force remains deployed in the area to maintain law and order.The clash occurred when residents of Ajeetpura were protesting alleged illegal mining and deep-hole blasting activities near residential settlements. According to villagers, a group of 15 armed men arrived at the site and started attacking protesters.
