Kodangal to become India’s first model solar mandal in a month: TGREDCO

Hyderabad: Telangana Renewable Energy Development Corporation (TGREDCO) vice chairman and managing director Musharraf Faruqui said Kodangal would become India’s first model solar mandal within a month.Addressing a meeting at Kodangal on Saturday, Musharraf Faruqui stated that while only model solar villages are currently being implemented across the country, the initiative to develop an entire mandal as a model solar mandal is being undertaken for the first time at Kodangal. He said that the successful implementation of this initiative would establish Kodangal as a national model for clean energy adoption.He informed that approvals have been accorded for the installation of rooftop solar systems for 5,186 electricity service connections covered under the Gruhajyothi Scheme in Kodangal mandal. Of these, 2,418 service connections have been found technically feasible, and nearly 2,000 rooftop solar systems have already been installed. He asked the officials to complete the remaining installations within a month.Faruqui said that the active participation of grassroots-level public representatives is crucial for achieving the model solar mandal target within the stipulated timeframe. He urged sarpanches and councillors to create awareness among the public, encourage eligible beneficiaries to participate, and facilitate the prompt resolution of issues to accelerate implementation.
