Ketan Agrawal murder case: Police turn to gait analysis, hunt for clothes Chetan Chaudhary wore that day

PUNE: Lonavala Rural Police are set to conduct a gait analysis of accused Chetan Chaudhary in the Ketan Agrawal murder case, after he was allegedly spotted walking near the Lohagad gate on the day of the incident.The exercise is aimed at verifying the alleged sighting through forensic gait analysis. Gait analysis refers to the study of human movement during walking or running and is often used by police to examine suspects captured on CCTV or video footage.Along with the gait analysis, police will also conduct a fresh crime scene reconstruction involving Chetan Chaudhary at Lohagad Fort. So far, only a reconstruction involving co-accused Siya Goyal has been carried out in the case.According to news agency ANI, investigators will also attempt to recover the clothes Chetan Chaudhary was allegedly wearing on the day of the incident as part of the ongoing probe. Earlier, Pune Police had taken accused Siya Goyal to Lohagad Fort to recreate the crime scene using a dummy matching the victim’s weight, in order to reconstruct how the incident unfolded.Meanwhile, the Vadgaon Maval court on Monday remanded accused Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary to police custody till July 3 in connection with the Ketan Agrawal murder case.Advocate Vipul Dushing, representing Siya Goyal, said the prosecution had sought seven days of police custody, but the court granted custody till July 3 after hearing arguments from both sides.Investigators have made progress in recovering evidence linked to Chetan Chaudhary, as Lonavala Rural Police on Sunday seized his two-wheeler. According to police, the vehicle was allegedly used by Chaudhary to travel from Pune to Lohagad Fort.In addition to the vehicle, authorities have also recovered a hoodie and headphones that he was allegedly wearing on the day of the incident.Ketan Agrawal reportedly died after falling from Lohagad Fort near Pune on June 18, following which a case was registered. Lonavala Rural Police, investigating the alleged murder, suspect that prime accused Siya Goyal was unwilling to get married at this stage of her life and was allegedly under family pressure to marry the victim.Agrawal’s fiancée Siya Goyal and her friend Chetan Chaudhary were arrested on June 23.(With agency inputs)
