A new development in the Ketan Agarwal (M) murder probe sees police questioning a youth from Beed, identified as Chetan Chaudhary’s (L) friend. Investigators believe Chaudhary and Siya Goyal (R) confided their alleged murder plan to him.

PUNE: In a fresh twist in the probe into the murder of Pune realtor Ketan Agarwal, police have picked up a youth from Beed for questioning.Police claim that the two accused, Chetan Chaudhary and Siya Goyal, had discussed their alleged plan with the youth, who is Chetan’s friend and classmate.According to sources, Chetan and Siya had allegedly shared their plan to kill Ketan Agarwal with him and had urged him to accompany them to Lohagad Fort on June 18. However, he did not accompany them that day.Investigators have also learnt that after the alleged murder, Chetan first met the youth. Siya is also said to have spoken to him after the incident.The youth, a native of Beed district, is employed with a private company in Balewadi. He had reportedly been in touch with Chetan since the last week of May.Pune Rural Police have taken the youth into custody for questioning. Sources further claimed that he had advised both Chetan and Siya against killing Ketan Agarwal.Ketan Agarwal died after falling from Lohagad Fort near Pune on June 18, following which a murder case was registered.Lonavala Rural Police suspect that the prime accused, Siya Goyal, who was engaged to Agarwal, was unwilling to marry at this stage of her life and was allegedly under family pressure to go ahead with the marriage.Following the incident, the Maharashtra government approved the establishment of a fast-track court for the case and appointed senior advocate and Rajya Sabha MP Ujjwal Nikam as the Special Public Prosecutor.Meanwhile, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, who were arrested on June 23, remain in judicial custody as the investigation continues.
