Juvenile held for killing 22-year-old man in Azamgarh

Varanasi: Tahbarpur cops in Azamgarh district caught a juvenile on Tuesday night on the charges of killing a 22-year-old man during a wedding function on Monday night.Police said the accused asked the man, Suraj Prajapati, to assist him in bringing some disposable utensils. When Suraj went with the accused, the latter hacked him to death with a brick and dumped his body in the bushes.Azamgarh’s CO (Budhanpur) Kaustubh Tripathi on Wednesday said that Tahbarpur cops succeeded in solving the case of killing of a person missing since Monday evening within 24 hours by nabbing a juvenile offender and finding the blood-stained clothes and shoes he wore on the day. A phone and motorcycle were also seized, said CO, mentioning that he was produced before the juvenile justice board.On Tuesday morning, Ramdhri Prajapati of Nasiruddinpur village alerted Tahbarpur police, mentioning his nephew Suraj Prajapati, who had gone to a wedding function, was missing under suspicious circumstances. When police started searching for Suraj, his body was found in the bushes of the village’s graveyard.When the police were busy in investigation, an informer alerted them regarding the movement of the killer, after which they cordoned off the area near Naipura underpass and caught the juvenile offender, who confessed committing the crime. He divulged that he conspired to kill Suraj in an old dispute. On the pretext of fetching leaf plates, the deceased was taken on a motorcycle to a deserted canal bank, where he was struck from behind with a brick already lying there and killed.
