Chennai: After a year-long stint at the principal bench of the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) in Delhi, Justice N Seshasayee is all set to take charge as a judicial member of NCLAT’s Chennai bench.The transfer of the former judge of the Madras high court has come in the wake of Justice Ashok Bhushan demitting his office as the chairperson of the NCLAT on July 4.As part of a rearrangements in the tribunal, Justice Seshasayee has been transferred to Chennai and is directed to take charge within three weeks through an order dated June 30.Justice Seshasayee was appointed as a judicial member of the NCLAT on May 23, 2025, after retiring as a judge of the Madras high court in Jan 2025. Born on Jan 8, 1963, Justice Seshasayee graduated in economics from Scott Christian College, Nagercoil, and obtained his law degree from Madras Law College.He enrolled as an advocate in 1986. He joined the judicial service as a direct district judge in 2004 and served as registrar judicial of the Madurai bench of the Madras high court between 2009 and 2011. He was appointed an additional judge of the Madras high court on Nov 16, 2016, and was made permanent on Nov 2, 2018.
