Kolkata: Calcutta High Court on Wednesday refused to hear the state’s urgent appeal to withdraw the interim protection granted to TMC‘s Jahangir Khan, who withdrew his candidature from Falta repoll on Tuesday.The state’s counsel mentioned before Justice Saugata Bhattacharyya that the HC had granted Khan the protection from police arrest in 5 FIRs when he was the candidate, but since he has withdrawn, the protection be removed. “Come after May 26,” the judge replied.
