Panaji: FC Goa midfielder Sahil Tavora injured his knee against Mumbai City FC and has now been ruled out for the rest of the season. After being on the bench for the 3-1 win against Odisha FC, Tavora started the crucial clash against Mumbai and scored the opener for Goa. However, midway into the game, the midfielder picked up an injury.“Tavora is out for the season,” Goa coach Manolo Marquez told reporters on Wednesday. “In the game against Mumbai, he had a knock, a bad knock, if you see the action. He could finish the game, but after the game, we did the scans and he will now be out for four or five weeks, which means the season is over. He is a very important player for us. We have a lot of players in the position but maybe the profile of Tavora is different than the other players.”After two wins in a row against Odisha and Mumbai, Goa are now fourth on the Indian Super League (ISL) table with 16 points, four behind leaders Mohun Bagan. Goa have four games left to be played.
