Lucknow: Twenty-one IPS officer trainees of the 2025 batch, currently undergoing training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad, visited the UP-112 headquarters on Friday under the Bharat Darshan programme to study the integrated emergency response system.The delegation, comprising 17 male and four female probationers, was briefed on the technological capabilities and operational framework of UP-112, one of the country’s largest emergency response services.The trainees toured the Call Operations and Dispatch Halls, where they observed live emergency call handling, call-flow management, and the functioning of the Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system used for the rapid deployment of police response vehicles.Senior officials gave a presentation on UP-112’s response mechanism, technological innovations, and efforts to ensure timely emergency assistance across the state. The officers were introduced to key technologies, including Auto Dispatch and Google’s Emergency Location Service (ELS), which helps pinpoint callers’ locations using GPS, Wi-Fi, and cellular networks during emergencies.Officials also explained the integration of 24 emergency services, including Fire Services, Ambulance Services, and Women Power Line 1090. Citizen-centric initiatives such as the Savera Scheme, the 112 Link Scheme, and Women Police Response Vehicles (PRVs) were also highlighted.The probationers were informed about multiple channels available for seeking assistance, including voice calls, WhatsApp, SMS, email, social media platforms, and the UP-112 website chatbot.
