Internal strife riles Bundi Congress meeting
Factional Infighting Disrupts Bundi Congress Gathering

Kota: A District Congress Committee (DCC) meeting in Bundi turned chaotic Wednesday evening as internal factionalism within the party came to the forefront. Heated exchanges erupted in the presence of senior office-bearers, including State General Secretary Vijendra Singh Siddhu and District President Mahaveer Meena. The turmoil began when Mamta Sharma, former MLA and ex-chairperson of National Commission for Women, addressed the gathering, urging party members to draw inspiration from former Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s political sacrifices. However, her speech was abruptly interrupted by Satyesh Sharma, a Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) member and son of local MLA Harimohan Sharma, who challenged her past political decisions and accused her of demoralising party workers. The meeting descended into a verbal brawl as attendees quickly divided into opposing factions. Mamta Sharma condemned the behaviour of certain party members, highlighting the lack of respect for senior members and women. “It is regretful that these educated young men show a complete lack of respect for women,” she stated in a video released the following day.Satyesh Sharma defended his actions, claiming Mamta Sharma was discouraging party activities and called into question her loyalty to the party.
