Hyderabad: Ahead of nation-wide army recruitment drives, the general officer commanding-in-chief, Southern Command of the Indian Army, lieutenant general C Rajesh Pushkar on Wednesday expressed the Army’s readiness to set up training centres for youth in various district headquarters of Telangana.Lieutenant general Pushkar met chief minister A Revanth Reddy at MCRHRD institute and discussed various issues, including army recruitment. Revanth appealed to the army authorities to organise training programmes in identified district headquarters to create awareness among local youth in army recruitment.Revanth also discussed the Army’s role in disaster management and emphasised that the army should play a proactive role in rescue operations, evacuating people to safety, and rehabilitation efforts in flood-affected areas. The lieutenant general assured that he would instruct local army officials to take special initiative during disaster situations in Telangana.
