Jaipur: Neeta Dadwe is aiming for an unique hat-trick as an Indian women’s kabaddi head coach at this month’s Asian Games.Having guided the Indian team to triumph in 2014 at Incheon, South Korea and the 2016 South Asian Games, the former Indian captain hopes to continue her perfect run in Japan.“We have always dominated at the Asian Games as far as kabaddi is concerned. The girls are raring to go and determined to maintain the clean slate. I am absolutely confident that I will achieve the hat-trick in Japan,” the head coach told TOI Thursday, “Our team is quite strong and riding on a wave of success. Preparations have been very good and if all goes well we are set to win the gold medal again.”

The Arjuna Award winner has been supervising the women’s kabaddi camp in Bellary, Karnataka. “During the camp, we tried several combinations and plugged loopholes that we noticed,” the 54-year-old Neeta said.One of the stalwarts of the game as a player, Neeta won gold medals in eight senior national championships representing Indian Railways. Originally hailing from Nagpur, she is currently based in Secunderabad as chief office superintendent with South Central Railways.“I am very happy with my appointment as the head coach for the third time. I will try my best to guide the Indian team to a podium finish once again,” added Neeta, a former player of Nagpur’s Maratha Lancers Club.
