HYDRAA clears encroachment from park land worth ₹20cr in Medchal

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) on Saturday cleared an encroachment on land earmarked for a park in a residential layout in Medchal and fenced the site to prevent further attempts to occupy it.The park land is located in Sai Sri Nilaya Layout in Medchal mandal of Medchal–Malkajgiri district. The layout, developed in 2000, comprises 256 plots spread across 13.31 acres. As per the approved layout plan, plots numbered 111 to 116, measuring a total of 1,970 square yards, were reserved for a park.Residents alleged that around 400 square yards of the park land had been encroached upon and divided into plots. They also complained that a boundary wall made of precast concrete blocks had been erected on the site. Following a complaint from the Sai Sri Nilaya Residency Welfare Society during HYDRAA’s Prajavani programme, officials conducted a field inspection with representatives of the concerned departments. After confirming the encroachment, HYDRAA removed the structures built on the park land, demarcated the boundaries, installed signboards identifying it as park land, and fenced the site. The land is estimated to be worth around ₹20 crore.
