Hyderabad: Hyderabad and its surrounding districts are likely to account for a major share of voter deletions under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), with nearly 22.1 lakh enumeration forms remaining uncollectable in Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri and Rangareddy districts alone.Election officials said these voters are likely to be removed from the rolls as they fall under categories such as dead, absent, untraceable, permanently shifted or duplicate entries.Chief electoral officer C Sudharshan Reddy told TOI that uncollectable forms relate to electors who are “dead, absent, untraceable, permanently shifted and duplicates.” The figure could rise further as around 23.9 lakh forms from the three districts are yet to be digitised, with three days still left in the exercise.The three districts account for nearly 46% of all uncollectable forms recorded in the state so far, underscoring the scale of the revision in Telangana’s urban belt.Among assembly constituencies, Uppal has the highest proportion of uncollectable forms. Of its 5.47 lakh electors, forms relating to 1.84 lakh voters, or 33.6%, could not be collected. Warangal West ranks second at 27.7%, followed by Secunderabad (27.1%), Quthbullapur (26.8%), Sanathnagar (26.8%) and Secunderabad Cantonment (26.8%).The data points to a pronounced urban enumeration gap. Six constituencies reporting uncollectable rates above 25% are in and around Hyderabad, with Warangal West being the lone exception. Rapid urbanisation, migration, tenant mobility, locked houses and access issues in gated communities are believed to have contributed to the high numbers.In absolute terms, Quthbullapur recorded the highest number of uncollectable forms at 2,00,690, followed by Uppal (1,84,224), Serilingampally (1,59,713), Maheswaram (1,52,040) and Medchal (1,48,247). Rajendranagar and Lal Bahadur Nagar followed with 1,44,904 and 1,39,064 forms respectively, indicating that the bulk of the burden is concentrated in the fast-growing constituencies of Medchal Malkajgiri and Rangareddy districts.The gap across the state is stark. Uncollectable forms range from 33.6% in Uppal to just 4.3% in Alair. Alair recorded 10,260 uncollectable forms out of 2.38 lakh electors, the lowest in Telangana. Other constituencies with low rates include Nizamabad Urban (6%), Patancheru (6.3%), Station Ghanpur (6.6%), Munugode (6.8%) and Bhuvanagiri (6.9%).At the district level, Medchal Malkajgiri recorded the highest proportion of uncollectable forms, with 7.39 lakh voters, or 24.8% of its electorate, falling in this category. All five assembly constituencies in the district reported rates above 20%, led by Uppal (33.6%) and Quthbullapur (26.8%).Rangareddy ranked second with 7.35 lakh uncollectable forms, accounting for 19.89% of its electorate. Maheswaram (26.46%), Lal Bahadur Nagar (22.86%), Rajendranagar (22.81%) and Serilingampally (20.65%) were among the major contributors.In absolute numbers, however, Hyderabad district topped the list with 7.41 lakh uncollectable forms, narrowly ahead of Medchal-Malkajgiri and Rangareddy. The district also showed sharp internal variation, with Secunderabad, Secunderabad Cantonment and Sanathnagar exceeding 26%, while Karwan (7.59%), Amberpet (7.69%) and Bahadurpura (8.69%) recorded much lower rates.At the other end of the spectrum, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri had the lowest district-level proportion of uncollectable forms at 5.6%, followed by Jangaon (8.43%), Sangareddy (9.25%), Medak (9.42%) and Suryapet (9.51%). Both constituencies in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri remained well below the state average, with Alair at 4.31% and Bhuvanagiri at 6.98%.
