Pune: An HR consultant (39) from Wagholi lodged a complaint with the police on Tuesday, stating that online fraudsters, posing as officials of a prominent e-commerce website, cheated her of Rs 4.33 lakhs on July 19 and 20 by promising daily earnings ranging from Rs 4,000 to Rs 10,000.The suspects, according to Wagholi police, allegedly told her that she could buy goods from them at heavily discounted rates and sell them on another e-commerce website for a profit.They initially guided her through both websites and also told her how to trade the garments and other goods at higher prices on one of the websites after buying their e-commerce website.Police said that after the workshop, the suspects shared their bank account numbers and asked her to transfer money to their bank accounts to facilitate the buy of the goods.Following this, the HR consultant transferred the money, the suspects stopped communicating with her. She requested them to send her goods for which she had placed the orders but there was no reply from the suspects. The complainant then realised that she has been cheated by the fraudsters.
