Hot, humid conditions to persist in Gurgaon till July 16, relief likely from July 17

Gurgaon: Residents should brace for hot and humid weather over the next two days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a yellow alert for Gurgaon and most districts of Haryana till July 16. Weather conditions are expected to improve from July 17. According to IMD’s district-wise forecast issued on Tuesday, Gurgaon remains under a “be updated” (yellow) warning for hot and humid conditions on July 14, 15 and 16. No weather warning has been issued for the district on July 17 and 18, indicating likely relief from the prevailing sultry conditions.The minimum temperature in Gurgaon was recorded at 25 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, 1.6 degrees below normal. The maximum temperature was 36.4 degrees Celsius.While rainfall activity remained subdued in Gurgaon during the 24 hours ending 8.30 am Tuesday, isolated showers were reported from parts of the state. Hisar received 18.2 mm of rain, Fatehabad recorded 28 mm, Mandkola in Mewat received 0.5 mm, and Jagdishpur logged 1.5 mm.The IMD has advised residents to avoid prolonged exposure to heat and humidity, stay hydrated and limit strenuous outdoor activity during the afternoon, particularly for children, the elderly and those with existing health conditions.Meteorologists said weather conditions are expected to become more favourable from Thursday onwards, with the hot and humid warning being withdrawn across Haryana from July 17.
