Vasai: Two women were injured after a speeding car rammed into their two-wheeler in Vasai West late on Saturday night. The car driver fled the spot following the accident, which was captured on a CCTV camera.The incident occurred around 11.45 pm on the Vasai-Bhuigaon road in the Giriz-Dongri area of Vasai West. The two women were travelling on a two-wheeler when a car coming from the opposite direction at high speed collided with their vehicle.Both the woman riding the two-wheeler and the pillion rider sustained serious injuries. Local residents rushed to the spot after the accident and shifted the injured women to a nearby hospital for treatment.The CCTV footage of the accident is now being examined by the police to identify the vehicle and its driver.“We have received information about the incident. Further investigation is underway and the process of registering a case is in progress,” said Saurabhi Pawar, senior police inspector, Vasai police station.
