Hyderabad: Widespread rainfall lashed several parts of Telangana until the early hours of Friday. According to data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS), Nizamabad district recorded the highest rainfall in the state, with Konasamandar in Kammarpally mandal receiving 97.5 mm.Nizamabad dominated the list of highest rainfall locations, with Jakranpally recording 78.3 mm, Sirkonda 75.8 mm, Dharpally 71.5 mm and several other areas receiving over 50 mm of rainfall. Siddipet also witnessed intense showers, with Siddipet Urban and Narayanraopet recording 75.8 mm and 74.5 mm of rainfall, respectively, while Raghavapur in Siddipet Rural received 74 mm. Rajanna Sircilla was another major rain-hit district, with Avunoor in Mustabad receiving 72.5 mm, followed by Yellareddipeta with 69 mm and Veernapalle 67.8 mm.Other districts that recorded notable rainfall included Rangareddy, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Wanaparthy and Medchal-Malkajgiri.Hyderabad also experienced widespread showers throughout Thursday night and into Friday morning. The highest rainfall within the GHMC limits was recorded at Ghanpur (NTPC) in Ghatkesar with 43 mm, followed by Singapur Township in Ghatkesar with 41 mm. Musheerabad recorded up to 30 mm at Bansilalpet, while Dr MCR HRD Institute campus in Shaikpet received 29.3 mm.Several other parts of the city, including Peerzadiguda, Tarnaka, Borabanda, Mettuguda, Uppal and Secunderabad, received between 18 mm and 29 mm of rainfall. Despite the latest spell, Hyderabad continues to face an overall rainfall deficit of 10% this monsoon season. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast generally cloudy skies over Hyderabad through the weekend, with light rain accompanied by strong surface winds of 30-40 kmph likely in parts of the city. Daytime temperatures are expected to remain around 30°C, while the minimum temperature is likely to hover near 23°C.
