Kolkata: The Calcutta HC on Friday directed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to file a report on its probe in connection with former minister Sujit Bose’s arrest, reports Srishti Lakhotia.Bose had moved the vacation bench of Justice Shampa Dutt (Paul) to challenge his arrest by the ED in a municipality recruitment corruption case. He was arrested on May 11 after being questioned for more than 10 hours. Bose’s counsel argued that there was no ‘predicate offence’ in the matter.While the CBI had initiated a probe into the municipality recruitment scam following directions from the Calcutta HC and subsequently filed a chargesheet, Bose’s counsel claimed that the document nowhere mentions his client.
