Hyderabad: The Telangana high court on Tuesday adjourned to April 30 a petition seeking the appointment of a full-time DGP (HoPF) for the Telangana police. During a hearing before the bench of Justice B Vijaysen Reddy, the petitioner, T Dhangopal Rao, argued that the state govt was deliberately delaying the appointment despite a clear direction from the apex court in the matter.Advocate general A Sudarshan Reddy, appearing for the state, opposing the petitioner’s contentions, informed the court that the present petition may not be taken up in view of the Supreme Court order and also a contempt case filed by the petitioner in the apex court, and sought time. The AG had, during the previous hearing on April 13, informed the court that the file for the appointment process was before the govt for selection and appointment of one of the empanelled IPS officers as DGP.Recording the submissions, the judge posted the matter to April 30.
