Gurgaon: Haryana is set to roll out a revamped GIS-enabled single-window system (SWS) portal to integrate land records, industrial land availability, key infrastructure details and statutory approvals, to make investment decisions faster and more transparent.Commissioner and secretary of industries and commerce department, Amit Agrawal, said the portal will be linked with the revenue department’s land records and provide real-time information on vacant plots in HSIIDC industrial estates. Investors will also be able to access details on nearby railway stations, power and water availability, with GIS integration helping them identify suitable project locations.The move marks a significant upgrade over the state’s existing Invest Haryana Single Window portal, which serves as an online platform for filing applications and obtaining approvals from multiple departments. While the current system facilitates time-bound clearances through a common interface, the proposed platform will add location intelligence, real-time land availability and infrastructure mapping, allowing investors to evaluate sites before submitting proposals.It will also serve as a comprehensive repository of document facilitation centres, investor guidance services and all statutory approvals required for setting up industries. Besides, district-level and state-level business reform action plans are being prepared to further simplify the investment process.Industry leaders said the proposed platform could substantially reduce the time spent on preliminary due diligence. “Industrial investments are often delayed because developers and manufacturers have to approach multiple agencies to verify land status, infrastructure availability and regulatory requirements. Integrating these datasets on a single GIS-based platform will improve transparency, reduce uncertainty and help investors take faster decisions,” said Pankaj Gupta, city-based industrialist.Meanwhile, industries and commerce minister Rao Narbir Singh directed officials to ensure that investor applications are not held up unnecessarily at the district level. “If an application has any deficiencies or objections, the officer must communicate all objections at one time, so that approvals can be granted within the prescribed timelines,” Singh said.Singh also took note of the increasing number of complaints involving RWAs in group housing societies and directed officials to frame a policy proposing amendments to the Apartment Society Act to ensure effective resolution of residents’ issues.Officials of the MSME department informed the meeting that business development services helpdesks and Udyog Saathi have been deployed to guide micro, small and medium enterprises on govt schemes, approvals and regulatory procedures. They also said the Sangam Portal, incorporating the govt’s zero defect zero effect framework, would be launched shortly.
