Chandigarh: To attract wholesale traders from Punjab, Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday announced that the Sonipat terminal would be opened for dry fruit traders from Amritsar. The announcement was made during a meeting with a delegation of traders from Majitha Mandi in Amritsar, who met the chief minister at his residence, Sant Kabir Kutir, in Chandigarh. The discussions focused on expanding business operations and investment opportunities in Haryana.Welcoming the traders, Saini said the state is working on the principle of ‘Ease of Doing Business’, ensuring transparent, simple and efficient processes. Haryana is emerging as a major industrial and logistics hub in the country, offering a conducive environment for investment, he added.For over a decade, Haryana has already emerged as an alternative destination for wholesale traders dealing in spices and grocery items from Delhi’s Khari Baoli market. Saini said the state govt was committed to promoting trade and industry and would provide all necessary support and facilities to investors.He added that expansion projects of major Delhi business centres such as Khari Baoli and Bhagirath Palace had already been approved in the Rai (Sonipat) area as part of efforts to develop it into a major commercial hub.The CM assured that the state govt would fully support and protect investors, enabling them to grow their businesses successfully.MSID:: 130516018 413 |
