YAMUNANAGAR: A mob pelted police with stones and bricks in Haryana’s Radaur area on Tuesday evening, injuring several officers and damaging vehicles, and freed a drugs case suspect from police custody.Police said a Karnal special unit team, led by Parveen Kumar, sub-inspector, raided Chhota Bans village to arrest Rajinder, a wanted suspect under the NDPS Act. When officers detained Rajinder near a culvert, his associates resisted.A larger crowd of villagers joined the confrontation, attacking the police team with stones and freeing Rajinder, police said.Radaur police registered a fresh case against 15 people, naming them, and several unidentified suspects under the BNS.Charges include assaulting public servants, obstructing their duty, criminal intimidation, and damaging public property. Rajesh Rana, SHO of Radaur, said no arrests have been made yet.
