Haryana extends online access to welfare benefits for retd CAPF personnel

Chandigarh: Haryana govt has launched an online registration facility for former personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), enabling them and their eligible family members to avail benefits under various state welfare schemes.Announcing the initiative on Friday, sainik and ardh sainik welfare minister Rao Narbir Singh said Haryana was the first state in the country to extend welfare benefits to retired CAPF personnel on a par with ex-servicemen from the Armed Forces.The online registration facility has been made available on the official website of the department of Ssainik and ardh sainik welfare, Panchkula. Former personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Assam Rifles and other CAPF organisations, along with their eligible family members, can register through the portal.The minister said the families of CAPF martyrs would also be able to directly access welfare schemes implemented by the state govt.Registered beneficiaries will be issued CAPF Personnel Identity Cards. The registration process will also help address discrepancies in service records and long-pending service-related grievances of retired CAPF personnel, Singh said.“The govt aims to ensure that every individual who has contributed to the nation’s border and internal security receives the support and recognition they deserve,” the minister said.Appealing to eligible beneficiaries to register at the earliest, Singh also directed officials to conduct awareness campaigns across the state to ensure that no eligible former CAPF personnel or family member is left out.
